Leather HolsterM1911 MODERN

A classic shoulder holster for a Semi Automatic

Adapted from a Texas pattern shoulder holster circa 1890. We have eliminated the chest strap and have secured the holster by using a strap and buckle that goes across your back, and over the opposite arm.

As well we have angled the holster towards the centre of your chest, allowing for quick access. Comes with extra mag pouch. Instead of a hammer tie down, we have used a strap with a snap so all modern, hammerless, semi-automatics will be secure in the holster.

To secure the holster up and down we have a strap and buckle that loops over your pants belt. We have left lots of length to the straps so you can adjust it to fit comfortably.Shown is our classic antique brown color, and we will custom make to fit the make and model and caliber of your sidearm. All production details are confirmed within one business day of your order being placed.

Only a soldier truly knows the cost of Freedom and Democracy.

To show our support for Democracy we were proud to supply a pure beaver custom cowboy hat as a prize, at a Super Bowl party in Afghanistan in 2012. Hosted by the Americans, guests represented most of the coalition countries.

George Patton and the Gunfight in Mexico

George S. PattonGeorge S. Patton came from a well off family with a long and storied military tradition that dates back to the Revolutionary War. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1907, the third generation of his family to go through those doors.

Patton was famous for wearing a brace of 1873 Colt SA Peacemakers custom ordered with ivory handles and his GSP monogram on the butts. Patton carried two pistols for a very good reason, which he explained to his father in a letter, after this gunfight.

On May 14, 1914 Patton was a Lieutenant with Perishing’ American Expeditionary Force that went into Mexico trying to get the infamous bandit, Pancho Villa. On this day Patton and 3 vehicles were foraging for food, when they came under attack by some mounted “Villistas” led by a Villa Captain named Julio Cardenes.

Patton and his men returned fire, then pursued the bandits into a ranch yard, where Patton left his men with the cars and went around the other side of the building. At that time he carried one colt peacemaker with five rounds (the hammer sitting on the empty 6th chamber for safety, as is the custom). When he came around the corner, he came under fire from Cardenes himself, which he returned, hitting the bandit twice, while emptying his revolver. As he stood there reloading 3 bullets whizzed by his head, which he later told his father was one of the most unnerving feelings he ever felt. Once reloaded he then shot the horse of a charging bandit from barely 10 yards away. The horse and rider were knocked down in view of the soldiers with the vehicle, and when the bandit tried to get up he was shot repeatedly by them.

After this shootout in Mexico Patton’ vowed to never get caught again without the means to shoot back, and shortly after started carrying 2 sidearms. Initially they were both colt single action Peacemakers, but early in WWII he gifted one to an actor he admired for entertaining front line troops. After that he carried an ivory handled monogrammed Smith and Wesson .357 Special Magnum in his left side or off hand holster.

In 1970 George C. Scott gave an oscar winning performance as the outspoken, brilliant commander, which was a truly great portrayal of this complicated warrior.

Colt 1911Colt M1911

The Colt M1911 semi-automatic was revolutionary in it’s design, and within a few years of it’s inception in 1911 it was the side-arm of choice for all branches of the US Military right up till about 1985.

The 1911 was the firearm that originated the classic “Locked and Loaded” phrase. Because of it’s unique palm and thumb safety the firearm is completely safe in the hammer back position.

Even today several police forces, Special Forces units, Navy Seals, and Marine Commando units have the Colt 1911 as their side-arm of choice. Every other semi-auto hand gun that came after is based upon this exceptional and functional design. The 1911 is very reliable and is easily field stripped and cleaned in minutes.
