Davey CrockettOur Crockett Suede Coat is a tribute to Davy Crockett. Crockett was many things in his lifetime – a frontiersman, soldier, politician, congressman and storyteller. Known as the “King of the Wild Frontier,” his adventures over his lifetime earned him American folk hero status.

Davy Crockett would have felt right at home in our Crockett coat.  It is made from suede leather with two outside, and two inside, pockets. This coat is available in Men’s sizes XXS to 5XL. See sizing chart in the picture gallery.

Crockett was born in 1786 in a state that no longer exists.  Franklin territory had broken away from South Carolina and attempted to enter the union as the 14th state.  Unfortunately Franklin fell shy of the required voter count and South Carolina reclaimed the territory a few years later.

While Crockett ventured into farming and manufacturing wood barrels and gunpowder, his prime skill was that of a hunter. As a young man he spent a lot of time hunting bears in the woods of Tennessee and would sell them to make his living. He even claimed to have killed 105 bears in a single year. He was a Congressman  and when he lost his final bid for Congress in Tennessee he headed south to Texas, uttering these words of farewell,”You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas”.

Although Crockett is most famously known for his participation in the Alamo, he only lived in Texas briefly before joining the Revolution and the fight against Mexico.
