Classic Suede Frontier Coat – The Daniel

Our classic suede frontier coat – the Daniel is a variation of our popular Boone design. Named after one of the legendary early exployerers, fur traders, trappers, and frontiersmen who opened up Kentucky and the way West.
Daniel Boone would have been right at home in our Classic Suede Frontier Coat – The Daniel in either 1760 or 2025.
Fringe on leather clothing is a functional design feature pioneered by native Americans, hundreds of years ago. Its job is to channel off moisture, allowing the garment to dry faster.
Daniel Boone is one of those legendary names from the early days of western expansion across North America. Boone was an explorer and frontiersman and was born on November 2, 1734, in a log cabin on the Boone homestead, in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania.

In May of 1769, Boone was instrumental in discovering a trail though the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky. The trail would prove to be of immense importance to anyone heading west through Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. And then onto the unknown lands beyond.
An excellent family orientated action-adventure TV series, starring Fess Parker as Daniel Boone, aired from September 24, 1964 to September 10, 1970 on NBC.
