This close toed holster is a little fancier variation of our traditional 19th century Teddy Blue Holster. The Curly Bill has a fancier border and the look is toughened up with 10 spots per holster.

This is the Curly Bill Movie Holster and 2 rig set that Powers Boothe wears as Curly Bill Brocius, in Tombstone.  It was patterned after the rig that the historical Curly Bill wore. 2 Cartridge belts, one worn backwards and two strong hand draw holsters. Like most of the actors cast in Tombstone, Powers Boothe has an uncanny likeness to the historical Curly Bill. In our books this makes 1993s Tombstone, perhaps the best cast western yet made.

The historical Curly Bill, was a real hand full and one of the truly dangerous men of the old west. He was a mean drunk, and people stayed clear of Bill Brocius when he was in his cups.

Brocius had a number of run ins with Wyatt and the rest of the Earp family.  He was named as one of the suspects in Morgan Earp’s murder. In Wyatt’s infamous Revenge Ride he and his deputies, including his brother Warren and Doc Holliday, chased down all they felt responsible for Morgan’s murder and Virgil’s bushwhacking.

The Earp Posse stumbled on Curly Bill’s group at Iron Springs.  As the men scrambled for cover, Wyatt engaged Curly Bill, eventually killing Brocius with a shotgun blast.  The outlaw’s gun had jammed – a common occurence of the day.

Curly Bill Brocius got his name from the soiled doves that admired his hair.  He was often refered to as Arizona’s most famous outlaw, and without a doubt one of the most dangerous.
