Our take on the Randall Bragg Movie Hat – from Appaloosa {2008}

Bragg’s hat has a soft telescope crown, pencil rolled brim, and is then hand-shaped and rolled higher on the left.  Appaloosa is such a good story.  All the actors do a fine job of moving the story along. We have used 10 cut-out star conchos strung out along a piece of 1/2″ inch of leather.

Our Randall Bragg Hat, with only slight modifications, is the same as the one seen worn by Jamie Foxx in Django Unchained.

Jeremy Irons crafts an intriguing Randall Bragg.  He is a well dressed and well-connected.  The sophisticated Cattle Baron gets what he wants, when he wants it. Bragg has the town of Appaloosa in his pocket.  He is the one who determines what’s right and what’s wrong in the area. When the local Marshall shows up at Bragg’s spread to arrest 2 of his wranglers, Bragg tells the Marshall that he can’t spare the men.

When Marshall Bell and his deputies don’t come back the leading citizens of Appaloosa send for Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch.  Their hope is that Cole and Hitch will bring law and order to the town and expose Bragg for what he is.
