Officer's Civil War Hat - A traditional 1860s era cavalry hat hand made by the last best west Officer's Civil War Hat - Louis Kossuth was an immigrant from Hungary and in 1852 he introduced the "Slouch Hat" style to America. Over the next decade the term came to signify almost all soft creased hats with medium or wider brims. Even a medium brim was an improvement over the European styled Kepis and Forage caps of the day. Our take on this movie hat style has a modified slouch shaped crown and a dynamic hand rolled and kettle curled brim. Our take on the Ike Clanton Movie Hat - from Tombstone {1993} The 4 dent military style crown was a common crown treatment in the old west. This hat with the pushed up front was worn by Stephen Lang as the cowardly drunk, Ike Clanton, in one of Hollywood's all time great western's - Tombstone. Custer Civil War Cowboy Hat - George Custer was as flamboyant an old west personality as any of his generation, and was anything but camera shy. Cowboys and Aliens Jake Lonergan Hat This is a modified crown treatment of a cavalry style, with the edges exaggerated. This movie is based on eyewitness accounts of cowboys taking pot shots at massive birds in 1890s Arizona. When the cowboys' shot at them, they apparently heard the bullets bounce off, the "leather like skin". The action starts right away in Cowboys and Aliens, when we see how Jake gets his hat. Our take on the Hang Em High Movie Hat - Clint Eastwood from Hang 'Em High. {1968} This western movie hat is the style worn by Clint Eastwood, as Jed Cooper, in the 1960s big Hollywood western, Hang 'Em High , co-starring the beautiful Inger Stevens, and a host of great character actors. We show our hat with a slight pencil roll on the brim. Our version of the Johnny Ringo Hat - from Tombstone {1993} Hats in the old west shipped with a satin ribbon and bow for the hat band and cowboys would often add their own hat band and just slide it over the existing satin one. Our custom Ringo hat has the same off kilter crown as the movie hat, and the same rakish upturn to the right side of the brim. Instead of the braided horse hair band that's sported in the movie, we've chosen to wrap our custom wind string, around the existing band. Our version of the Dylan Custom Town Hat - A 21st century updated version of his classic Rolling Thunder hat from the 1960s. This hat has a classic telescope crown, with a pencil roll, creating a dynamic and distinctive hat. Tom Mix B-Movie hat - A hat style popular with early film star Tom Mix Tom Mix was likely cinema's first movie star, starring in dozens of silent and talkie westerns, at the dawn of cinema in the 1920s and 30s. Mix was a small man who liked big hats, and was the first movie star earning 40,000 a week in 1925.
