Custom Cowboy Hat - The 1957. Richard Boone wore one. So did Dean Martin. Richard Benjamin the star of the original West World movie wore one.

Fact is you could tune into just about any tv show or western film from the 1950s and 1960s and see some sort of variation of the hat style we are calling, 1957. And it is still popular today with the Whitey character from the TV series Godless sporting one.

Added heavy trail dust, a "bullet hole" through the pinch in the crown, and a slight nick in the right side of the brim from a knife fight. A real "tricked out" character hat! You will find hats similar to this in any of the 3 classic westerns from John Ford, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Fort Apache, or Rio Grande.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Bonanza (1959 - 1972) debuting on TV, this is our take on the magnificently simple hat worn by Dan Blocker as Hoss. Big Guys like big hats. And Dan Blocker was a big man right from the start. Weighing 14 pounds at birth he grew to be a 6' 4" and 300 pound favorite on the iconic TV Western, Bonanza. And his Hoss Cowboy hat was the most authentic old west hat, any of the cast of Bonanza wore.

Robert Fuller was one of Hollywood's most handsome leading men in the 1950s and 60s, and he had a fine career playing cowboy heroes, including Jess Harper from Laramie. Our first hat was given to Mr. Fuller in 2017, as a gift from his fan club. More below
